Obverse description Central field displays the crowned arms of Holland — a rampant lion facing left within a shield surmounted by an ornate jewelled crown — rendered in high relief consistent with piedfort striking. The date 1682 appears divided above the crown, flanked by decorative foliate sprigs. The denomination numeral '3' appears to the left of the shield and 'G' to the right. The circumferential Latin legend reads MO : NO : ARGENT : COMIT : HOLL : 1682 3 G, separated by pellet stops, and is bounded by a bold inner beaded border and an outer milled rim.
