Obverse description Central shield bearing the arms of Zeeland — a rampant lion above three horizontal wavy bars representing the sea — surmounted by an elaborate crown. The denomination numeral '3' and the abbreviation 'G' (for Gulden) appear flanking the shield in the field. The date is positioned above the crown in the upper portion of the field, with the circular Latin legend running along the periphery. The overall composition is rendered in a bold, high-relief baroque style characteristic of Dutch provincial coinage of the late 17th century.
