Additional information

Adam Wenceslaus ruled Teschen from 1579 until his conversion to Catholicism in 1610, a political realignment that reshaped confessional allegiances across Silesia. These groschens were struck during the middle years of his reign, when the duchy operated with considerable autonomy under Habsbur suzerainty despite persistent pressure from Vienna. Teschen's mint output from this period is irregular in both volume and quality, and MB#22 specimens show meaningful variation in die workmanship across the seven-year span.
