| Obverse description | Central field occupied by the crowned interlaced SA royal cypher of Sigismund II Augustus, the conjoined letters S and A surmounted by an ornate royal crown. The date 1562 is divided by the monogram, with the digits 15 to the left and 62 to the right. The entire device is enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The circumferential legend in Latin runs along the outer border between the beaded circle and the coin's irregular hammered rim. |
