| Obverse description | Shield bearing a rampant lion facing left, depicted in a crude hammered style typical of Kipper-period emergency coinage. Small fleurs-de-lis or lily ornaments are positioned to either side of the shield in the field. The shield has a plain border and the overall design is characteristic of the debased coinage of the Kipper und Wipper inflationary period. |

| Reverse description | The Roman numeral denomination III, surmounted by a small cross or floral ornament, is displayed within a rope or beaded inner circle at the center of the coin. The surrounding legend reads III FLITTER with the date 1621, distributed around the periphery. The lettering is crude and irregularly spaced, consistent with the emergency hammered coinage of the Kipper period. |
