| Obverse description | The arms of the Central Bank of Malta occupy the central field, depicting a quartered shield supported by two armoured knights in full regalia, each bearing a sword and a Maltese cross, with a mural crown and elaborate mantling above. A rope-twist inner border encircles the design, with the legend CENTRAL BANK OF MALTA arcing along the upper periphery in bold raised letters. The motto ribbon at the base of the arms bears the inscription FIDUCIA FORTIS and the founding year 1968. The denomination 3 EURO appears in large characters along the lower margin outside the rope border. |

| Reverse description | A mature, diademed and draped bust of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II faces right, wearing a tiara, drop earrings, and a pearl necklace, rendered in fine portrait relief against a mirror-polished field. The effigy is attributed to engraver J.C. (initials visible in the lower field to the right of the bust). A rope-twist inner border frames the portrait, with the legend HER MAJESTY QUEEN ELIZABETH II arcing along the upper periphery. The memorial dates · 1926 · 2022 · are inscribed in two groups along the lower arc, commemorating the Queen's birth and death years. |
