Obverse description Elaborate quartered coat of arms of Archbishop Joseph Clemens of Cologne, surmounted by an Electoral bonnet and a cross above, the shield displaying the arms of Cologne, Bavaria, Westphalia, and Angria with a central escutcheon bearing the Bavarian lozengy. Supporters and ornamental mantling flank the shield. The mint initials P-W and the date 1696 appear in the lower field below the arms. The surrounding circular legend reads in Latin abbreviation, naming the archbishop's full ecclesiastical and ducal titles.
