Reverse description A double-headed imperial eagle displayed in the centre of the field, with wings spread, surmounted by a single crown above both heads. The eagle's body is finely detailed with feathering rendered in high relief, characteristic of late 17th-century Swiss cantonal coinage. The circular Latin legend MONETA NOVA TVGIENSIS with the date 1692 runs around the periphery, identifying this as the new coinage of Zug. A fine toothed border frames the design.
