Obverse description Gilt effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, wearing a tiara, after the portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, whose initials IRB appear below the truncation. The legend BERMUDA arcs along the upper left border and ELIZABETH II along the upper right border of the triangular flan, within a decorative inner frame. The date 2007 appears in the lower field. The portrait is selectively gold-plated against a mirror-polished silver field.

Reverse description Gilt depiction of the English iron-hulled steam and sail vessel Kate, shown underway at sea with sails set and smoke rising from her funnel, rendered in selective gold gilding against a frosted silver field. The ship's name KATE and the date of her wreck 1878 are incorporated into the design. The denomination THREE DOLLARS appears in the lower portion of the triangular field, with decorative border elements following the contours of the coin.
