Obverse lettering ELIZABETH II CANADA 2011 D·G·REGINA 3 DOLLARS
(Translation: Elizabeth II Queen by the grace of God)
Reverse description The reverse displays a stylized sunburst or pinwheel design composed of twelve curved, petal-like raised elements radiating outward from a central point, rendered in polished and matte proof finish against the silver field. At the center of the design, a faceted blue zircon Swarovski crystal is inlaid, representing the birthstone for the month of December and exhibiting characteristic blue-teal hues. The sweeping, swirling petals create a dynamic sense of rotation around the crystal focal point. No inscriptions or legends appear on the reverse. The overall design is the work of Susan Taylor.
