| Obverse description | The obverse features the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by engraver Susan Taylor, depicting Her Majesty in right-facing portrait at approximately 77 years of age, bare-headed, adorned with a necklace and earrings. The legend ELIZABETH II D•G•REGINA arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 3 DOLLARS appears in the lower field. The portrait is rendered in fine detail consistent with the mature effigy adopted by the Royal Canadian Mint for this series. |

The "Celebration of Love" series has been an annual RCM giftware offering since the early 2010s, produced in modest mintages and sold primarily through retail packaging targeted at Valentine's Day. These are collector-market pieces from the outset — none entered general circulation — and the $3 denomination itself has no history in Canadian everyday coinage, existing solely as a vehicle for this category of commemorative issue.
