| Obverse description | Panoramic cityscape of Munich (Monachium) rendered in fine relief, depicting the twin onion-domed towers of the Frauenkirche prominently in the centre, flanked to the left by the tower of St. Peter's Church (Alter Peter) and to the right by the neo-Gothic spire of the New Town Hall on Marienplatz, with additional ecclesiastical and civic structures filling the lower field. The engraver's monogram appears in the upper right field. The Latin place name MONACHIUM is inscribed in large roman letters along the lower field, with the date 1965 immediately below, the digit 6 stylised as a small monk figure in reference to Munich's heraldic origins. |

The Roman numeral III, denoting the denomination, is prominently displayed within a recessed lozenge at the centre of the cross. The fineness mark 1000 appears at the base of the cross. The circumferential Latin legend PRO PROSPERITATE MUNDI arcs across the upper portion of the border, while ARGENTEUS is inscribed in roman capitals along the lower border, flanked by small rosette stops. |
