| Obverse description | Central crowned quartered shield bearing the arms of the seven United Provinces of the Netherlands, with elaborate cartouche-style heraldic mantling. The composite shield displays the arms of Holland, Zeeland, Utrecht, Gelderland, Overijssel, Friesland, and Groningen in their respective quarters and inescutcheons. A royal crown surmounts the shield. The circular legend surrounds the entire device, rendered in raised Latin lettering separated by pellets. |
