Additional information

Mongolia's lunar series from this period was produced in limited quantities for the collector market, with the Year of the Sheep issue among the smaller-mintage entries in the run. The .9999 fineness places it at four-nines purity — fractionally purer than the more common .999 standard used by most sovereign mints at the time, a specification the Bank of Mongolia adopted to compete directly with bullion-adjacent collector issues from the Perth and Royal Canadian mints.
