Somaliland's unrecognized status means its coinage carries no legal tender validity outside its own borders — and arguably within them, given ongoing international non-recognition since its 1991 declaration of independence from Somalia. The Baanka Somaliland has nonetheless issued a steady stream of commemorative bimetallics, many with no plausible connection to Somaliland itself, effectively producing collector tokens dressed as coins.
A Somaliland-issued piece commemorating the British monarch as Queen of St. Vincent and the Grenadines is exactly the kind of anomaly that defines this genre: three jurisdictions, none of them meaningfully related.
