Obverse description The State Arms of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea occupies the central field, depicting a hydroelectric power station before a mountain landscape with radiating rays, surmounted by a five-pointed star, and flanked by sheaves of rice bound with a ribbon at the base. The Hangul legend naming the Central Bank of the DPRK encircles the design along the upper rim. The purity mark '999' and the weight '15g' appear in the lower field to either side of the arms, with the denomination '250 WON' inscribed along the lower rim in Latin characters.
