Obverse description The Somali national coat of arms is centrally depicted, featuring a shield adorned with a five-pointed star and supported by two leopards rampant, above crossed spears and a palm frond base. The date is split to either side of the arms, reading '20' to the left and '03' to the right. The legend 'SOMALI REPUBLIC' arcs along the upper periphery in bold Latin lettering. The denomination '250 SHILLINGS' is inscribed along the lower rim. The design is framed by a fine beaded border.

Reverse description The reverse presents a dynamic scene commemorating the famous 1966 FIFA World Cup Final goal at Wembley Stadium. On the left half of the field, two footballers are depicted in vigorous motion, one in the act of striking; on the right, a goalkeeper dives futilely across his goal line as a football enters the net. A vertical goalpost divides the composition. The curved legend 'WEMBLEY GOAL - ENGLAND 1966' arcs along the lower periphery in Latin characters.
