Obverse description The State Emblem of India — the Lion Capital of Ashoka — is depicted centrally in high relief, showing three lions passant upon an abacus bearing a Dharma Chakra flanked by a bull and a horse. Immediately below the emblem, the national motto appears in Devanagari script: सत्यमेव जयते ('Truth alone triumphs'). The country name 'भारत' (left) and 'INDIA' (right) arc along the outer field in large incuse lettering. The denomination ₹250 is rendered in bold numerals with the Rupee symbol in the lower field.
