| Obverse description | Bare-headed left-facing effigy of King Baudouin I occupies the central field, rendered in high relief with fine detail to the hair and facial features, the work of engraver Antoon Luyckx whose signature appears in small letters at the lower right of the portrait. The circumferential legend in Dutch reads BOUDEWIJN - KONING DER BELGEN, arcing from the lower left to the upper right. The accession and anniversary dates 1951 - 17 juli - 1976 appear along the lower arc, completing the commemorative inscription marking the 25th anniversary of the king's accession to the throne. |
