| Obverse description | The central field features the denomination '250 فلساً' (250 Fils) inscribed within a raised inner circle. Flanking the central circle are the dual dates '1400 H' (Hijri) to the right and '1980 M' (Gregorian) to the left, rendered in Eastern Arabic numerals. The upper legend 'الجمهورية العراقية' (Iraqi Republic) arcs along the upper rim. A multi-line commemorative inscription curves around the lower portion of the field, reading 'لمناسبة مرور عام على تولي السيد الرئيس قيادة الحزب والثورة' (Marking the first anniversary of Mr. President assuming leadership of the Party and the Revolution).
