| Reverse description | The reverse presents a stylised pig rendered in the traditional Chinese paper-cut artistic style, depicted in profile facing left at centre, its body decorated with swirling auspicious cloud motifs in relief against a mirror-polished field. The animal is framed above by ornate scrolling cloud patterns, and to either side by stylised fence or gate elements in the lower field. The Chinese cyclical year characters 乙亥 appear prominently above the central device. The denomination $250 is inscribed in large numerals at the lower centre, with the legend 1 TROY OZ 999.9 FINE GOLD arcing along the lower rim. |

Part of Singapore's long-running Lunar New Year bullion series, which began in 1981 and was among the first Asian sovereign gold lunar programs — predating the more widely recognized Chinese Gold Panda lunars in sustained series format. The 1995 Pig issue corresponds to the year 亥 in the sexagenary cycle, the final sign before the sequence resets.
The .9999 fineness was a deliberate marketing distinction from the outset, positioning Singapore's issues above the .9990 standard common elsewhere at the time.
