Obverse description The complete Coat of Arms of Jamaica occupies the central field, featuring a quartered shield bearing five golden pineapples on a black cross, supported on the dexter by a female Taino figure holding a basket of fruit and on the sinister by a male Taino figure holding a spear, with a crocodile passant atop the helm as crest. A scroll below the shield bears the national motto in the legend OUT OF MANY, ONE PEOPLE. The country name JAMAICA arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination TWO HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS curves along the lower periphery. The CHI mint mark of Valcambi SA appears at the lower left of the shield.

Additional information

Jamaica's 1982 FIFA World Cup issue was struck to coincide with the Spain 1982 tournament — an event Jamaica did not qualify for. The coin exists because the commemorative market of the early 1980s rewarded any nation willing to license the FIFA name, regardless of sporting connection. Many Caribbean mints and monetary authorities issued World Cup gold during this period purely as collector revenue instruments, never intended to circulate.

KM#100 was produced in limited quantities by the Jamaica mint authority with Franklin Mint involvement in distribution.
