Reverse description The oval flan is entirely covered by an intricate pysanka design, evoking the Ukrainian tradition of ornamental Easter egg decoration. Symmetrical floral and foliate motifs radiate from a central star medallion, flanked by two circular medallions filled with leaf-shaped relief elements, all framed by scrolling vine and feather-fan borders. A horizontal ribbon near the upper field carries the legend CANADA 2023, while a corresponding ribbon near the lower field bears the denomination 250 DOLLARS, with the designer's initials DM to the right. The deeply engraved relief and matte-frosted fields accentuate the complexity of the traditional folk-art patterning.
