| Obverse description | Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II after the portrait by Susanna Blunt, depicted with a pearl necklace and earring. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the upper left, CANADA and the date 2016 appear at the top, and D•G•REGINA continues along the right periphery. The denomination 250 DOLLARS is inscribed along the lower arc. The mirror-polished field features subtle radiating concentric line engraving, and the engraver's initials SB appear on the truncation of the effigy. The coin is struck on a large scalloped planchet with eight curved lobes. |
