Reverse description The reverse presents a breathtaking close-up view looking upward through the canopy of a mature maple tree in full autumn splendour, with intricately engraved and vibrantly hand-applied colour enamel depicting foliage in rich hues of crimson, scarlet, orange, gold, and green. The gnarled, textured trunk and spreading branches fill the field, rendered in high relief against the coloured leaf canopy. The denomination CANADA / 250 DOLLARS and the date 2016 appear incused in the lower portion of the field, with the engraver's initials visible at lower left.
