| Reverse description | Central design evoking a stylised cross motif derived from the Diamond Diadem of Queen Elizabeth II, set within a square frame and surrounded by a field of punched circular settings. Four inlaid faceted gemstones are positioned at the cardinal points of the cross, with an additional inlaid stone at the centre, all mounted flush within the platinum-finished ground. Flanking the central motif on either side are symmetrical foliate sprays incorporating flowers, berries, and leaves in platinum relief against the gold field. The legend CANADA arcs along the upper periphery, and the denomination 250 DOLLARS appears along the lower periphery; the engraver's initials JV appear at the lower right of the reverse field. |
