Obverse description At centre, the fourth-generation effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, diademed and draped, as designed by Ian Rank-Broadley, whose initials IRB appear below the portrait. The effigy is set within a shield-shaped inner frame, above which elements of the Czech lion motif extend into the surrounding field. The legend '250 DOLLARS' arcs above the portrait within the frame, while 'NIUE ISLAND' and '2022' arc along the left and lower border, and 'ELIZABETH II' along the right. The Czech Mint mark (CM) appears to the right in the field. The broad outer border is decorated with bold relief renderings of the Czech double-tailed heraldic lion, filling the field around the central shield.

Reverse description A highly detailed, naturalistic front-facing portrait of the crowned Czech heraldic lion dominates the central field, rendered in deep high relief with exceptional sculptural detail in the mane, facial features, and regal crown. The lion's crown, adorned with orbs and floral elements, rises to the top of the inner circle. Flanking the inner circle at left and right are stylised linden leaf sprays, a traditional Czech heraldic motif. The circular legend 'ČESKÁ REPUBLIKA' arcs boldly around the lower periphery, while the fineness and weight inscription '5oz Au 999.9' appears in the lower exergue within the inner circle.
