| Additional information |
This piece belongs to the Royal Australian Mint's "Masterpieces in Gold" series, issued in the years when commemorative gold had become a significant revenue stream for Commonwealth mints. The Diana inclusion in 1992 is notable timing — she and Charles had separated publicly that year, with the official announcement coming in December, and the Palace's careful management of her image was already fracturing.
The .917 fineness is traditional crown gold, the same standard used in sovereigns since 1817.
