Obverse description The obverse features two side-by-side rectangular cartouches set within a circular raised inner border. The left cartouche displays the official emblem of the XIV Sarajevo Winter Olympic Games — five interlocked Olympic rings above a stylised snowflake motif — while the right cartouche bears the state coat of arms of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, depicting a torch flame encircled by six torches bound with a ribbon, surmounted by a five-pointed star. Above the cartouches, a small mint mark and the date 1983 appear in the upper field. The bilingual legend СФР ЈУГОСЛАВИЈА SFR JUGOSLAVIJA runs around the upper periphery in Cyrillic and Latin scripts respectively. The denomination 250, flanked by the Cyrillic letter Д and the Latin letter D, is prominently displayed in the lower field.
