| Obverse description | The obverse displays the national coat of arms of Suriname at centre, depicting an oval shield supported by two indigenous figures standing on a decorative base, with a sailing ship and a palm tree as shield quarterings. The supporters are rendered in a stylised, sculptural manner characteristic of the series. The motto legend JUSTITIA PIETAS FIDES arcs across the upper field, while the country name SURINAME appears as a straight legend in the lower field. The entire design is framed by an ornate border of interlaced tropical foliate and floral motifs that fill the field to the rim. |
