| Reverse description | The deeply recessed black-enamelled field bears the prominent Cyrillic inscription 'ДЕНЬ ПРИЗНАНИЯ НЕЗАВИСИМОСТИ РЕСПУБЛИКИ ЮЖНАЯ ОСЕТИЯ РОССИЙСКОЙ ФЕДЕРАЦИЕЙ' arranged in four lines across the upper portion of the coin. At centre, a numeral '15' within a laurel wreath denotes the fifteenth anniversary of recognition. Flanking the wreath are two architectural vignettes in high relief: to the left, the Spasskaya Tower and Senate building of the Moscow Kremlin; to the right, the Government House of South Ossetia in Tskhinvali. Decorative Ossetian foliate scrollwork in relief occupies the lower field, above the bilingual commemorative dates '2008' and '2023' flanking the inscription 'МАЙРÆМЫ МÆЙ 26' with star ornaments. |
