Obverse description At center, the coat of arms of the Republic of South Ossetia depicted within a beaded inner circle, featuring a snow leopard passant before a stylized mountain range. The arms are surrounded by a circular legend in Cyrillic reading the full name of the republic in both Ossetian and Russian. To the upper left of the church, a framed icon of the Virgin and Child (Theotokos) is depicted in relief. To the upper right, the Roman numeral 'XVIII æ.' denotes the 18th century.
