| Reverse description | The oval reverse depicts a stylized anthropomorphic figure rendered in the flat, ornamental style of Seljuk period artistic tradition, standing centrally in the field and holding two large scorpion-like creatures, one in each raised hand. Surrounding the central figure are additional stylized scorpion forms and abstract organic elements distributed across the lower field, while scattered stars fill the upper background. The legend 'AKREP' (Turkish for Scorpio) is inscribed in Latin characters along the upper border of the oval field. The design is deeply struck in proof quality, with sharp relief against a mirror-polished background. |
