| Reverse description | Central bimetallic insert features a detailed forward-facing portrait of a Margay (Leopardus wiedii), rendered in high relief against the gold-toned inner ring. The date '2015' is divided across the left and right fields flanking the central motif. The legend 'CATS OF THE WORLD' arcs along the upper periphery of the outer silver-toned ring, with the species name 'MARGAY' inscribed along the lower periphery. A beaded border runs along the inner and outer edges of the ring. |

| Additional information |
Puntland declared itself an autonomous region of Somalia in 1998 and has never claimed full independence, which creates a persistent legal ambiguity around its coin issues. The 2015 bimetallic series — of which this is a part — was produced for the collector market rather than circulation, as Puntland operates no functioning mint and uses the Somali shilling and US dollar in daily commerce.
The margay is a small Neotropical wild cat with no geographic connection to the Horn of Africa, pointing squarely at a series designed by a European distributor targeting exotic wildlife themes.
