Additional information

Jabotinsky died in New York in 1940, and his will explicitly requested burial in Israel only when a Jewish state existed and its government invited the reinterment. That condition was met in 1964, when his remains were transferred to Mount Herzl in Jerusalem — a posthumous vindication of the revisionist Zionist position he had argued for decades against fierce opposition from the Labor-dominated mainstream. This coin was issued on the centenary of his birth.
