Additional information

Issued as part of Malaysia's second series of parliament-era decimal coinage, this struck when Bank Negara was quietly phasing out the large-format sen denominations that had defined Malaysian pockets since metrication in 1967. The 25 sen coin in this size and composition was discontinued shortly after, making 2006 among the final production years before the smaller, lighter coinage reform took hold in 2011.
