Obverse description The obverse features a central circular cartouche containing a naturalistic depiction of a tropical rainforest canopy rising from a landscape, rendered within a concentric ring design. To the right of the cartouche, the denomination '25 SEN' is prominently displayed in large numerals. The date '2003' appears within the inner ring of the central motif. The curved legend 'SIRI HAIWAN TERANCAM' runs along the upper periphery, while 'BANK NEGARA MALAYSIA' arcs along the lower border, all in Latin script.

This issue belongs to the Malaysian Wildlife series circulated under the twelfth Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Syed Sirajuddin, who ascended to the throne in December 2001. Malaysia's 25 sen coins had been brass-clad steel for years prior, making this solid brass composition a minor but trackable distinction for type collectors working this series.
