Additional information

Thailand's 1950 coinage series was issued following the formal adoption of a new constitutional monarchy framework and the consolidation of Bhumibol Adulyadej's reign after his brother Ananda Mahidol died under disputed circumstances in 1946. The aluminium bronze alloys selected for these small denominations reflected postwar material constraints across Southeast Asia, where tin and copper supplies were still being redistributed after Japanese occupation.
