| Reverse description | The central field depicts a dramatic river battle scene featuring a longboat with oarsmen and armed warriors discharging firearms. To the left, a half-length portrait of Yermak Timofeyevich is shown holding a pole-axe, flanked by trees upon a rocky riverbank; to the right, a fortification crowns a steep bluff with four archers in boats at its base. In the background, additional vessels and wooded banks recede into the distance, with the inscription «ТОБОЛЬСК» (TOBOLSK) inscribed above against the river landscape. At the top of the reverse, the Tobolsk civic coat of arms featuring two foxes supporting a crown above crossed bow and arrows is rendered in fine detail. The upper rim carries the legend «ОСВОЕНИЕ СИБИРИ XVI·XVII» (THE DEVELOPMENT OF SIBERIA XVI·XVII), while the lower rim bears «ПОХОД ЕРМАКА 1582·1585» (THE YERMAK'S CAMPAIGN 1582·1585). |
