| Obverse description | The face presents a central heraldic eagle vignette above a shield, with the denomination numeral 25 repeated in each corner within guilloche-bordered panels. The Semireche Region (Семиречье) occupied a remote stretch of Central Asia — present-day southeastern Kazakhstan and northern Kyrgyzstan — and its 1918 local emission was a direct consequence of the Bolshevik seizure of Tashkent cutting off normal currency supply to an already isolated territory. Local administrations across the former Russian Empire improvised their own scrip during this period, but Semireche's issues are among the more geographically peripheral, produced far from any established printing facility.
The anti-Bolshevik White administration controlling the region at time of issue collapsed by 1920, and most of this scrip was rendered worthless almost immediately. Surviving examples frequently show heavy wear — these circulated hard in a cash-starved frontier economy with no replacement notes arriving.
