| Obverse description | Plain cream paper cheque-format note with text printed in black. The upper portion carries the heading «Твердый гарантированный чекъ» (Guaranteed fixed cheque) of the Armavir Branch of the State Bank, with the denomination «на 25 руб.» rendered in bold letterpress against a faint «ГОСУДАРСТВЕННЫЙ БАНКЪ» guilloche underprint. The lower half contains a handwritten date line for 1918 followed by the printed order to pay the bearer twenty-five roubles charged to a current account, with series and serial number printed vertically along the left margin and two manuscript signatures at foot. |

Armavir, a trading hub in the Kuban region, became one of dozens of local authorities forced to print their own money after the Bolshevik seizure of the State Bank in Petrograd severed the normal supply of currency. The Armavir Branch issued this note in 1918 during a period when the town changed hands multiple times between White and Red forces — which means surviving notes could have circulated under entirely different political regimes within months of issue.
The S479 series has several signature and text variants; the "D" suffix distinguishes this specific subtype within what was effectively emergency scrip with a thin veneer of official banking authority behind it.
