The Year of the Snake falls in 2025 for the first time under a British monarch who has publicly championed environmental causes — a quiet irony given the snake's ancient associations with transformation and renewal across East and Southeast Asian traditions. This is the fourth Lunar Series issue to bear Charles III's effigy, the Royal Mint having maintained continuous Lunar coinage since 1999 to serve collector demand, particularly in Hong Kong, Singapore, and diaspora markets across Europe and North America.
The .9999 fineness designation separates this from earlier Royal Mint gold issues, which were largely struck in .9167 (22 carat) gold.
