| Reverse description | The reverse features a bold depiction of the Lotus Esprit S1 submarine car, famously used by James Bond in the 1977 film The Spy Who Loved Me, rendered in precise outline engraving at the centre of the design. The vehicle is set against a densely inscribed background field repeating the titles of multiple Bond films in continuous running text, including THE SPY WHO LOVED ME, MOONRAKER, DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER, LIVE AND LET DIE, and THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN. The entire composition is framed by an overlapping camera-aperture or gun-barrel motif rendered in the surrounding field, evoking the iconic James Bond film opening sequence. The bold numeral legend 007 appears in raised relief in the lower centre of the design, with the engravers' initials CD MD inscribed nearby. The proof surfaces provide strong contrast between the frosted design elements and the mirror-polished field. |
