Comments

Egypt's 25 Piastre notes of this period were workhorses of everyday commerce — low denomination, high turnover, and correspondingly brutal on the paper. The two-star coat of arms variant is the key distinguishing detail between P#42 and the later three-star versions, reflecting the composition of the United Arab Republic flag insignia in use before Egypt's 1972 adoption of the Federation of Arab Republics emblem with its hawk.

The P-47a and P-47b cross-references are catalog errors, not variant designations. Worth flagging to any buyer who pulls those numbers expecting something different.
