The 25 Piastres ran across an extraordinary span of signatures — from Rowlatt during the First World War through to two distinct 1951 issues differentiated only by serial number script. That final split, Western versus Arabic numerals on otherwise identical notes, was a deliberate accommodation to Egypt's shifting political mood in the years immediately preceding the 1952 revolution.
Bradbury, Wilkinson held the printing contract for the National Bank of Egypt across most of the first half of the twentieth century, and the consistency of this plate design over three decades is itself unusual for a circulating note.
