Egypt's 25 piastre notes of this period were printed entirely in-house — the Central Bank established its own printing facility at Al-Haram in 1967, ending dependence on foreign security printers. Self-sufficiency had strategic value for a country that had fought three wars since 1948 and needed full control over its currency production.
The single authorized signature across this issue belongs to Mohamad Abd El-Fattah Ibrahim, whose tenure as Central Bank governor ran through the early Sadat-era economic opening known as the Infitah.
