| Obverse description | The obverse is centred on an intaglio vignette of the Mosque of Si Kabib in Homs, with minarets and courtyard rendered in fine line engraving. The Arabic name of the republic arches across the top, with the denomination in Arabic script flanking the vignette, while the date 'دمشق في 31 آب سنة ١٩٤٢' and two signature panels occupy the lower portion within an intricate guilloche border. Serial number appears alongside the date inscription. |
