| Obverse description | The obverse is printed in green and brown tones, framed by a bold geometric Art Nouveau border with stylised angular corner ornaments. A panoramic vignette occupies the upper portion, presenting a waterside view of Wollin with church spires, townhouses, and sailing vessels on the water beneath a sweeping sky. Below the vignette, the issuing authority inscription and a validity clause are set in bold blackletter type, with the serial number, date, and two manuscript signatures of the Magistrat appearing along the lower margin. |

Wollin — the Baltic island town known in German as Wollin, today Wolin in Poland — issued this note as part of the broad Notgeld wave that swept German municipalities in the early 1920s, when small-denomination coinage had effectively disappeared from circulation. The Magistrat series printed by Otto Lang, a local printer operating within the town itself, is among the more provincially produced examples of the type: no specialist security printer, no elaborate engraving contract.
The DeNG 2#1453.1-1/3 reference indicates three known variants within this denomination, likely distinguished by minor typographic or paper differences rather than separate issue dates.
