| Obverse description | A spread Imperial German eagle displayed with wings lowered and outstretched, facing left, crowned with an imperial crown atop its head. The eagle bears a central heraldic shield on its breast depicting a smaller eagle, the whole flanked by decorative oak and laurel sprigs. The mint mark 'A' appears in small characters at the base of the design in the lower field. The design is rendered in high relief with fine engraved feather detailing throughout, occupying nearly the entire coin face without a surrounding legend. |
