Obverse description The Imperial German eagle displayed in high relief, with spread wings, crowned head facing right, breast shield bearing the Hohenzollern arms, and elaborate tail feathers. The legend DEUTSCHES REICH curves around the upper periphery, interrupted by the eagle's wings, while the date 1908 appears in the lower field flanked by two small five-pointed stars. The coin is bordered by a rope-pattern rim.

Reverse description The denomination numeral '25' in large bold characters occupies the upper centre of the field, with the inscription PFENNIG directly below, and the Berlin mint mark 'A' beneath that. The central devices are encircled by an elaborate decorative wreath composed of stylised floral rosettes, anchors, rope links, a ship's wheel, a cogwheel, crossed hammers, and foliate elements, symbolising German industry and maritime power. The entire design is enclosed by a rope-pattern border.
